By : Cicilia Reny W.

Once upon a time, there was an ant kingdom that was located under the big tree in the forest. Although it was only the small kingdom, it was a prospeous and peaceful kingdom. Ant kingdom was lead by Ant King and Ant Queen. They were wise and kind. They had twin daughters, their name were Princess Anti and Princess Anta. Although they were twin, they had different characters. Princess Anti was a beautiful and good princess. In the other hand, Princess Anta was a beautiful but she was a conceit princess.
Ant kingdom was known as the dilligent and concord kingdom, because the ant colony were the hardworkers and they always respected and helped each other . They worked hardly in the summer. Because, it was only the right time to gathered the food. So, they had sufficient food when the winter was coming.
In the ant kingdom there was an tradition that every ants must do. The tradition was when ants met the others ant they must give a greeting. The greeting was shown by touched their antenna each other. The tradition was not only for greeting, but also there was an faith in the Ant kingdom that it had the miracle for ants. The faith was when the ants touched their anntena each other, they gave the positive stimuly to the others. The stimuly was used to support the ant’s life.
The tradition was obtained to kingdom family too. But, princess Anta did not want to do that, she feel slovenly. She thought that the custom was useless. She did not believe about the miracle of that tradition.

Indonesian Students’ Nightmare

By : Adi Hakim K.
Indonesian has just finished their big-education-ceremony, national exam, which cost billions of national budget for each stages of education. There are three stages of education which got national exam, senior high, junior high and also primary school which the last held last week. Besides using a huge number of money, national exam is also taking a lot of concentration not only for the participant but also parents and teachers. National exam has brought more harms than good.
Starting with the idea of national exam which used to measure the equality of education in Indonesia, it turns into a nightmare for the students. How couldn’t be, the idea of equality implemented in our education exam is not followed by the equality of facilities provide by the government. For instance, schools in big city are provided by sophisticated facilities including computer, laboratory and many others. While what we can see in rural area in Indonesia we could hardly find schools with sophisticated facilities, moreover in some area in the border line of Indonesia they do not even have teacher.
The inequalities has led into some problems in the process and also the result of studying for students from different areas. If we compare the quality of education in three area, big city, rural area, and also border line area we will have different result on it. For instance, in English subject students come from big city will have proper facilities and media to support their learning process like language laboratory, books, or even native teacher. On the other hand students come from rural area will get difficulties to get proper facilities to support their learning process. They might do not have laboratory, good books or native teacher to support their learning process. Moreover, if we take a look at students from border line area the existence of teacher, which usually one teacher cover all of subjects to teach, is one thing should be thankful.

National Exam in Indonesia

By : Inez Edhina A.
In Indonesia, we have a national exam that became an annual event. Every students in this country must pass this kind of exam, including me, as I have already experienced before. Then, in the realization, there are some fouls that happen in national exam. That is not a secret anymore, and all people know about it for sure through news or mouth to mouth. There is something behind national exam that makes it as a controversial issue in this country. Actually, there is some factors that affect it and some people try to ruin it. Because of being a controversial issue, so it appears a question whether national exam is needed or not.
National exam is as the standard education evaluation system. Actually national exam is a standard education evaluation system for school. Another word, it is a measurement of school quality that have to be passed by every school. So we can know whether the school is succeed or not to do teaching-learning process. However, the purpose of evaluation itself is not only for school but also for the students who are in the last grade. Having the national exam as a standard evaluation, is to know the student’s ability in mastering subjects that have already been taught in school. Moreover, it can be as a selection for going to upper or next grade. Students who have national exam are in the last grade, for instance in elementary school for sixth grade, junior high school for ninth grade, and senior high school for twelfth grade. For elementary school subjects are Indonesian, math and science.

Susan Ambition

Written by Ghayun P. Permatasari

"Susan, Susan, Susan, besok gede mau jadi apa?

aku kepengen pinter, biar jadi dokter..

Susan, Susan, Susan, cita- citamu apa lagi?

aku kepingin jujur, biar jadi insinyur..”

-Susan punya cita-cita – Ria Enes-

This song is familiar with you right? Do you still remember what your wishes when you were a child? Or you have forgotten about your wishes because what your wishes now is your parents’ want, not yours? We learn for the first time from our role model: parents. We are imitating them, we do like what they do, and we want to be someone like our mom or dad when we are still young. However, we grow old naturally. We have own wishes and needs. We know about what we want and what our passion exactly. But, not our parents; they are afraid. They are afraid about our future, which we never try before. They do not let us to try; they force us to choose what THEY want, not ours.

The parents assignment is to guidance their child or give a directive in order their child not choose the wrong path. But now, the parents feel that their right is to keep the children choose what they want and this is not original the kid’s choice exactly. They direct their childrien in one way and make the final decision for their children which they will bring it until their die. But, actually the case is family is the first environtment to educate. Or we can say it education is start from our family, so if their children have been educated to not responsible to what they have already choosen, how they can get the right education for his or her own family later? This is the first mistake of the parents: choosing what the best acording themself.

If we look in the other developing country where the children has their own wishes or ambition to choose, the human resourches are so many. Because the children know their ability and can develope

The King of The Jungle

a story by Angen Y.K.

Once upon a time, there was a very big jungle called the Green Jungle. This jungle led by the biggest Gorilla of that jungle. One day Black Dragon came to the jungle and eat every fruit provided by the Jungle. The Gorilla, which is the King of the Jungle, was furious to know that. He asked the Black Dragon to fight him.
After fighting for three days, The King died and The Black Dragon announced that he would come again about 10 years later. If there`s no one who cannot defeat him. All of the fruits provided by the jungle would be eaten by him and he would be the king of Green Jungle. Then, The Black Dragon left the jungle.
After The Black Dragon was leaving the Jungle, The wise Bear told everybody in the jungle to find the strongest animal of the Green jungle and if he could fight The Black Dragon, he would be the King of the Jungle forever. Then, Green Jungle society agreed with the wise Bear idea.
All of animals started to make a mini competition in order to find the one. This competition is followed by the strongest animal of each district of Jungle. There are 4 districts of the jungle; water district, air district, fire district, and soil district.
